What Types of Children Would Benefit From Pediatric PT? 

Children who do NOT acquire these large muscle skills:

• Head control at 4 months
• Sitting without support at 9 months 

• Standing with your support at     11.5 months
• Crawling on hands and knees at               13.5 months

• Walking with your support at 14 months
• Standing by themselves at 17 months
• Walking by themselves at 17.5 months 

Children who:

  • Were born early

  • Look to only one side 

  • Do not like playing on their tummy

  • Cannot perform activities with children of the same age

  • Cannot keep up with friends in the community and at school

  • Have recently underwent a medical procedure or surgery for their muscles or bones 

Children with:

  • Cerebral Palsy

  • Muscular Myopathies

  • Genetic Syndromes

  • Mitochondrial Disorders

  • Spina Bifida

  • Brain Injuries/Brain Disorders

  • Orthopedic conditions/Sports Injuries

  • Spinal Cord Injuries/Disorders

  • Developmental Coordination Disorder
